Outstanding. We went there because we saw it on Triple D. We travel to Vicksburg, MS frequently and pass thru Hernando but the past few times it was closed. Finally got the chance to try it, and OMG. If you've heard about it and never tried it get there asap. If you've never heard of it I'm telling you, trust me, it's fire as hell..... Pasta Jumbalia I will be back.

I ordered the lobster ravioli via Bite Squad. It cost $24 and I only got 5 raviolis. It wasn't the best; I expected more and was very underwhelmed. The crab stuffed mushrooms and black and blue salad were ok. Overall, not worth close to the $50 I paid (not including Bite Squad's delivery and tip).

Delicious food. service was great. Accoustics are not the best. Pretty noisy.

First visit wont be our last. I had the shrimp and grits and loved them. Meet the owner who was very pleasant and the ladies working never stopped hustling..

Food was good but my husband ordered the steak special. It had no price and boy were we surprised when we got the check. Our friends steak was a much bigger and better cut but the food was good and staff was friendly for sure and I'd go back

Would definitely recommend. We had potato soup, jambalaya soup, stuffed mushrooms, Greek salad and the crawfish poboy. Only thing I didn’t like was the mac & cheese. Staff was very nice.

Great restaurant on the square. It’s tucked away so you need to look carefully or you might miss it. On the north side of the square. Steps lead you underground.

A real hidden gem! The shrimp and oyster PoBoy’s are awesome!

Very good restaurant with good food and friendly service. The Lemon Meringue pie was very good! Cajun Chicken and Grits not spicy and very good also. They had the beat Fried Green Tomatoes! The breading was perfect and tasted great!

Great food. Service was very good! We had to have to go boxes due to the large serving sizes of the meal.

The food at this restaurant is amazing!! We ordered a pan of the seafood gumbo. It was so fresh, great flavor and worth every penny! It comes with fresh delicious white rice and a loaf of fresh, warm French bread..SO GOOOOOD!!

Nice spot. It is is basement type facility, so the noise level can get very high. The food is good. The same owner as Bubba's Barbeque, just half block away. Owner and staff always friendly and helpful. I always thought it would be a great spot for a piano bar. Reminds me of some of the spots you see in movies.

Always enjoy lunch here. Great atmosphere. They have the best sweet potato fries ever! Friendly, kind waitress. Recommend for small lunch groups to come for meetings.

Uninspired setting other than it's unusual location in a basement. Tasty Creole inspired comfort food menu that's affordable. Several seafood options, grilled or blackened and not just fried. Some staff are inexperienced but overall staisfactory execution. Been multiple times, will go again, but not often. Only one unisex bathroom, but you can see from your seat when it's available. It's a four star relative to the other available restaurants nearby.

I always enjoy the menu and the atmosphere here. The service is fast and friendly and the food is always excellent. I haven't had a bad meal or bad service here. I would absolutely recommend taking the time to give it a try.

Food was good and service was good however some disappointments. First... this is not a Cafe' as the name indicates. Second... our meals was good and moderately priced but then we were offered a piece of chocolate cake for dessert thinking that the piece of cake was also moderately priced then the bill, one piece of cake $9.00 we were shocked.Third the atmosphere was not the hit. Overall we were disapointed.

The absolute BEST shrimp and grits you will find ANYWHERE! Terrific fast service! Great prices for wonderful food.

I had crawfish chowder. It was divine! & a fresh side salad.

We were in Hernando for a quick overnight on our way to New Orleans and read the reviews on line. We enjoy local eateries rather than the chain restaurants we find close to highways. This was one of the best we have found. We tried the fried oysters, blackened shrimp alfredo& a poor boy. My salad tasted so fresh, like somebody picked it & put it in a bowl. Great food & our sweet waitress was amazing. Loved the underground atmosphere. Worth a very short drive. Decent pricing also.

So good!! I ordered the Gumbo (a cup, definitely skip to the bowl sized serving lol) It was so flavorful and delicious. They have large portion sizes- I got a shrimp po'boy and fries which was sooo good and filling - got some leftovers! The kids menu offers burgers, chicken strips, mac n cheese , etc... Its a small place, but some of these types of places have the best (comfort) foods. If you're lucky enough to pass this little slice of southern goodness do yourself a favor and stop in! 😛

This place was amazing for my first time there. I will be making another visit, it is well worth it. This place is actually underground too. There is this banana desert this exquisitely good.😋😋

Great food. Wonderful weekend specials. Tends to get smoky (from the kitchen) though.I had to reduce this to a 2 star from 5. We arrived on a Saturday night at just after 6:30 and the smoke was awful. The food was wonderful as usual but we both walked in the door at home and threw our clothes in the washing machine.

Omgosh, so dang good!! Sausage/Cheese plate appetizer, Chicken Crepes, Pimento Cheese Patty Melt...Will we go back??? Oh YES we will AND you should too!

The food is overpriced. They don't want to give you whatever comes with the meal. You shouldn't have to ask for it. Too Expensive.

Wow! Underground Cafe fast friendly service and great food. This was my third visit here the food and service has remained consistent on each visit.

Very sorry to add this review have eaten here many times and always enjoyed it. But yesterday the food was disappointing way over salted to the point that you could not enjoy it. This was two different orders I had jambalaya pasta my wife had her favorite Reuben sandwich both were over salted.

Excellent food! Everything we had, from apps to desserts, was delicious!

Friendly service and BYOB topped off good food. We will be back many times.

Great place...One of there specials tonight was Prime Rib...It was absolutely Awesome! And the Dessert was equally Good! Banana Fosters...Highly recomend...

Steaks were phenomenal! Pleasantly surprised. They only had one waitress and she was more productive and efficient then 5 waitresses. (There were 8 tables eating when we left.

The food is really good. The only problem I have is the acoustics. Very loud. Other than that it is all good.

Absolutely delicious! Elizabeth was our waitress, so kind, so helpful with the menu since we were from out of town and extremely great server. Highly recommend for anyone.
